Same thing goes for humans. Just like the car, our talents, skills, hard work, as well as your physical attributes all make up the body, or components of the car.

1) Write Down Some Of Your Biggest Achievements
Sometimes, we get so caught up in our current situations, we tend to forget what we’ve been through, and the situations we’ve conquered in the past.
Recalling some of the outstanding things you’ve done in the past can serve as a valid reminder to just how capable you are, which will in turn lead to a healthier and better sense of self.
2) Try Doing Something New
We humans sometimes have a sort of fear of the unknown. This is why we tend to stick to things we’re already used to, rather than venturing out to experience other things.
Trying new things not only helps you get over that fear, but it can also help you discover more about yourself. You’ll know more about your likes and dislikes, and even possibly discover new passions too.
3) Recite Positive Affirmations
Never underestimate the power your words have. When you say something repeatedly, it gets ingrained into your subconscious, and this later manifests itself in your how you think, as well as your habits.

Flaws are exactly what makes us human. So don’t be afraid to embrace your flaws. They are what make you, you. Even the people you think are perfect also have flaws of their own.
So embrace yours. Own it, and see yourself as more than your flaws. See yourself as you. A unique human being.
7) Set Little Tasks And Complete Them
There’s no denying that our achievements play a role in our level of confidence and self-esteem. But also when it comes to achievements, you don’t necessarily need to start at the top.

The only way to overcome our fear of something, is by engaging with that fear. We all have something we’re scared of doing. It could be talking to strangers, or presenting in front of people, or something like heights.
By engaging with your fears, you become one step closer to overcoming them for good. And as you overcome your fears, you’ll begin to believe in yourself a lot more.

11) Don’t Fear Failure
It is important to note that facing your fear doesn’t have to require succeeding at first. For example, if you’re shy when it comes to presenting or talking to people, facing that fear doesn’t mean you’ll become the master of speech on first try.
But that’s the point. That it’s okay to fail. In just about everything meaningful we try, there’s a chance we’ll suck at it, or fail. And that’s okay.
Failure is a normal part of life. Sure it sucks to be in that position. But it’s important to remember that it’s completely normal. Rather than being scared of failure, we can actually put ourselves out there and learn from our mistakes.

12) Say “No” When You Have To
“No” is one of the simplest words to utter, considering it’s just one syllable. But for some people, saying No, especially to things that they aren’t comfortable with, is a difficulty.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s ok to consider people’s situations, as well as make compromises for them. But when it comes at a disadvantage to you, or makes you feel uncomfortable, then it’s ok to say “No”.
Saying “No” doesn’t mean you don’t care, or that you’re a bad person. It just means that you value yourself as an individual, and that you’re making a choice that reflects your values, as well as your wellbeing.
13) Sharpen Your Existing Skills
We feel much more confident in ourselves when we know we can do something, and that we can do it well. Our skills, whatever they may be, are of great importance in today’s world.
If you have a skill, sharpening it, and becoming better at it gives you a boost of confidence, because you know when a problem arises in that area, you are more than capable of solving it. And that’s a pretty darn good feeling.

18) Dress Nicely
If you want to be more confident, you’ve got to start by looking confident. After all, your physical appearance is one of the first things people notice about you.
Without a doubt, wearing good and comfortable clothes makes us feel more confident. If you’re looking to boost your self-esteem, your wardrobe is probably a good place to start.
Now don’t get me wrong. When I say “dress nicely”, I’m not implying you need to get the latest Louis bags and fancy shoes, gold pendants or overtly expensive clothes. Absolutely not.
What I mean is, you should pay attention to what you wear, and focus on getting clothes that fit you properly, and make you feel comfortable. Cheap clothes can do that just as well, if not better than expensive ones.
19) Learn Something New
Knowledge is indeed a powerful thing. And if there’s one thing we never truly stop in life, is learning. Learning something new is a great way to expand your knowledge about different aspects of the world.
In addition to this, the act of learning can also have positive effects on your brain, and help you develop a better and healthier mind.
Learning can come in the form of a craft, like knitting to things like painting, programming, or even just the simple act of acquiring more knowledge, like learning a new subject.
Either ways, expanding the borders of your knowledge is sure to lead to a better and more capable you, which will eventually have a positive effect on your self-esteem.
20) Do Something You’ve Been Putting Off
Procrastination is one thing a lot of people have to deal with today, including yours truly. But there’s no denying the negative effect it can have on our minds.
Putting things off unnecessarily puts us in a state of tension or anxiety, knowing we have important things that need to be completed, while somehow still doing nothing about it.
It leaves an unnecessary burden on your mind. When you do something you’ve been putting off, you can almost literally feel the burden lifted.

21) Read/Listen to something inspiring
Sometimes, we feel as though the odds are against us, and we don’t stand a chance in this thing called life. But all we need to remember is that there were people just like us, who not only has these doubts, but were also able to pull through and succeed.
These stories can serve as a source of inspiration to us, and give us the courage to hold our head high as we go through life. Books, podcasts, seminars, talks, and so on can serve as a good source of inspiration.

Don’t get me wrong. Setting high goals and reaching for the stars is a good thing. But sometimes, we forget we are human, and end up setting the bar way too high.

Sometimes, the things that drag us down aren’t the circumstances of the present, but the emotional baggage of the past. Holding on to things that we can’t change, and have already happened, never leads to anything positive.
It only ruins our experience of the present, and holds us back from achieving the things we’re meant to achieve. The past is the past for a reason. Whatever happened then, let it go, and don’t let it weight you down.
Rather, focus on making the best use of the present, to create a much better future you’ll be proud of.
29) Plan ahead
You must’ve probably heard the saying that those who fail to plan, plan to fail. That’s 100% true. The best way to face anything in life, is with a plan.
Not only does it give you a better sense of control and responsibility, but it also allows you to prepare for the unexpected and make adjustments accordingly.
30) Stop Comparing Yourself To Others
Comparing yourself to others is never a productive thing to do. Because no matter where you are in life, you’ll always find someone doing better than you. Made a million dollars this month? Congratulations. Someone else made 10 million.
The problem with comparing yourself to others, is that it paints a very inaccurate picture of people’s lives, and ignores the fact that each and every one of us are faced with very different circumstances.
Rather than comparing yourself to others, try comparing yourself to who you were in the past. It’s more productive, since no one knows you as good as you, and it’s a more accurate depiction of progress.
